The NCB-BU project investigates the mechanisms by which the brain departs from repetition to implement an unpredictable strategy. More specifically, we aim at deciphering the computational principles and neuronal mechanisms underlying the active generation of choice variability. We take advantage of a multi-disciplinary approach by combining behavioral and electro-physiological experiments in mice with computational modeling.
The project is funded by the SMART Labex. It involves the Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique (ISIR) and the Institut de Biologie Paris-Seine (IBPS) laboratories at Sorbonne Université, Paris, France.
